Stan wanted some practice for the CLWC One Dayer and so I brought my Scots Royalists out for another run.
The Scots won the initiative and decided to attack in the plains. My intent was to get the highlanders into melee as soon as possible, before the scary German Cuirassiers crashed into my line.

I deployed my Irish on my right, trying to get them into the gentle hill with a field on it. Stan surprised me with a flank march, which could only be on my left flank. My highlanders weren’t too happy about having to stop a flank march, most likely comprising of elite Curassiers.

The Scots advanced as quickly as possible, but Stan’s marsh allowed my right hand flank.
The highlanders slowly turned to deal with the incoming flank march, while trying to get into the enclosed field. The two German dragons had very different ideas….

My cavalry who were in the centre finally advanced enough to charge the artillery units that were raining chaos onto my troops and crashed thru.

Meanwhile, Stans dragoons held the charge and proceeded to beat my highlanders. Stans flank march also arrived and put extra pressure onto my flank. Luckily for it, it was only two pike & shot battle units.

The chaos continued with both armies breaking.
